Sports Centre for TTÜ students:
The course Physical Education must be declared in the TTÜ study information system ÕIS. Bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral students may declare the Physical Education course for free in two semesters, and like any other course, is declared in the study information system ÕIS:
In the fall semester - MK 3001 Basics of Physical Movement I, 3 ECTS
In the spring semester - MK 3002 Basics of Physical Movement II, 3 ECTS
Declaring gives you the right to use TTÜ Sports Hall from Monday to Friday between 8:00 and 15:30.
When declaring the course Physical Education, a student must select between four different fields of study and lecturers:
- Fitness Gym – Head teacher Risto Jamnes, and coach Siim Raudla
- Group fitness training - Head teacher Kaisa Sööt, coaches Sandra Raju and Keisy Põldsam
- Sports games (basketball, volleyball, table tennis, badminton): Head teacher Kris Killing (basketball, volleyball), coach Uku Rumm (volleyball), and Head teacher Madis Koit (table tennis, badminton).
Your student card will become active after you have declared the course in OIS.
According to the system, the attended trainings will be calculated individually and each student shall be personally responsible for it (please count the attendances yourself as the trainers will not be able to give you the information on spot). For a training to be taken into account, you must validate the student card in the sports building for three times (also know as The Three Beeps).
- The first validation will take place when entering the building (like in previous years), where the security gates can be opened only by a card connected with the study information system OIS.
- The second validation will happen in the sports hall (group fitness, ball games, fitness gym) when going into the class – the trainer will tell you all when coming to the class. all the sports halls are equipped with validators.
- The third validation takes place, when you leave the building, where you can open the security gates only by using the card. The third validation ensures that the attended training is taken into account.
Studies take place from Monday to Friday, from 8:00 to 15:30. The training sessions begin at: 8:00, 10:00, 12:00 and 14:00. One training session lasts up to maximum 1.5 h. The declared students can open the security gates of the sports centre at the beginning of each training session. You cannot enter the gates in the intervening hours. You can enter the building 30 minutes before, but not later than 20 minutes after the training session has begun (for example if you want to attend the 10:00 class the doors will let you through at 9:30 and will be closed at 10:20).
Student has to make a choice about the field of sport according to his/her personal
preferneces. However, you need to attend training classes of the chosen field of sport at least 24 times /training classes to fulfill the requirement to pass the course. But the choice of sport does not restrict participation in other training classes. These other classes of other field of sport are not taken into account as contact hours in accordance with course requirement.
You can attend the Physical Education classes after you have declared your individual study plan, i.e. after the red line day. An individual study plan must be declared in the study information system ÕIS at the beginning of each semester within two weeks. After the deadline for the submission of an individual study plan (two weeks after the beginning of the semester), the security gates of the sports centre can be opened by any student who has declared the course Physical Education and has obtained a student card.
An ISIC or Student card is required for entering the sports centre. The card is required for entering the sports centre and for calculating the training classes one has attended. Student cards can be ordered from TTÜ Student Union.
